Luckey was born on September 19, 1992, to Donald and Julie Luckey. He was born and raised in Long Beach, California. Luckey attended the University of Southern California where he studied journalism. He dropped out of college in 2011 to pursue his entrepreneurial interests in virtual reality.
Palmer’s interest in virtual reality began early: he started working on VR at age 16 and prototyped his first headset out of cardboard. He bootstrapped oculus and was working a minimum wage job and living in a 19-foot camper trailer. In 2010, Luckey invested his money in crypto way-early when he was just 18 years old. He bought Bitcoin at $5 per coin and Ethereum at $0.30 per coin.
He was also fixing computers on the side, buying broken iPhones fixing them, and flipping it on eBay, and also worked in the boat yard scrubbing boats for repainting and sweeping the boats to earn some extra cash.
Palmer developed one of the first commercially viable headsets made with VR technology. It was this experience that led him to invent the Oculus Rift. Palmer sold Oculus to Facebook in 2014 for $2 billion. He has an estimated net worth of over $ 1.4 billion.
The Oculus Rift was named after Palmer Luckey’s 6th generation of virtual reality headsets. It was designed to provide an immersive experience for gamers. It was released in 2016, with a price tag of $599 and it sold out within minutes on its first day of pre-orders.

Palmer Luckey co-founded Anduril in 2017. Anduril makes software systems for autonomous sensemaking and command & control. Lattice is their latest product, which is an “autonomous sensemaking and command & control platform”.Lattice is a system that can be used to make decisions in real time, without human intervention. It can be used for military purposes, but it also has many other applications. For example, it could be used to help with disaster relief efforts or to help with the management of traffic in cities.
Luckey announced that Anduril had signed a contract with the U.S. Air Force for over $ 900 million to provide a new defense system for the country. The company will be working on a new defense system for the country, which is expected to be completed by 2032.
